Inspired by the murals of downtown Mexicali’s Chinesca and San Diego's Chicano Park, the campaign is guided by a binational committee of artists and built on a simple belief: access to art is not a privilege but a basic human right. Through murals and art festivals, Cultural Hotspot by the Border aims to reimagine the region's relationship to its border, expand access to public art, and strengthen the local creative economy.
